MJA President Judge Tracey Yokich would like our membership to be aware that the Senate Judiciary Committee will be taking up SB 973 which expands the penal code to include threats to judges, staff, and family members with the intent to interfere with the legal process. Judge Yokich and other members of the MJA Executive Board will be testifying before the Committee on Tuesday May 15, 2018. Please contact Judge Yokich if you have any questions or concerns, or if you have had experience with the type of harassment addressed by the legislation that you would like the Committee to be aware of.
